My name is Wendy Briggs and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who has been working with children and families in challenging situations for over 15 years.
I am a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and a Certified Early Intervention Specialist. I have experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum, children with genetic syndromes and children with developmental delays. I also have experience in the areas of adoption and foster care where I have worked as a Family Resource Worker. I have been a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) since 2011.
I am passionate about collaboration between community and families to help create the change they seek in their lives. My therapeutic approach varies based on the client’s needs and includes Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, and Play Therapy. My approach to therapy is laid-back and non-judgmental. I want to meet you where you are comfortable and for the therapy to work for you.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, running marathons, being outside in the sun and the snow and sitting down with a good book.
